« on: January 16, 2010, 09:59:30 AM »

Am I the only one in the world NOT to own a personal music device thingamy?

OK I mean an iPod or an MP3 or whatever the latest gadget may be?

I personally don't see the need for one for me, but I'm not knocking them as I was a Sony Walkman gal in my time!!   Grin

Same as. Wink

I listen to most of my music at home via wireless headphones thru the PC or in the car. If I am outside I don't bother unless I'm in my workshop but I have SoSW's 'hand me down' stereo for that Afro

Got a few iPods and music on my phone.

I use them for:
Playing through my car stereo - FM transmitter
Keeping out of trouble when on my Jollies
Playing on my PC when I'm away working.

The best bit about MP3 players is the software that was developed to help you manage your music Afro

As for using them generally, I believe that Viz top tips had it covered -

"DON'T waste money on expensive iPods. Simply think of your favourite tune and I hum it. If you want to "switch tracks", simply think of another song you like and hum that instead." Afro

I don't have an I-Pod or MP3 player but I use my Sony Ericsson mobile - it has a Walkman facility and also a radio!

I must admit I do use it alot of the time at work, we not allowed a 'communial' radio but you can have your own personal I-Pod/MP3 etc. on so I use that - sometimes its just an excuse to blot certain people out!!!!

I have 2 i'pods ( a classic for the car and a touch for everything else) also have an Archos 605 for video ( it was a pressie from my better half to pass the time while we went on our 40 hour bus journey to italy 2 years ago because she doesn't like flying). I admit i don't need them all i just like gadgets . i also have a Nokia 5800 phone which comes with an 8gb memory card but like PIN i only use the tunes as ring tones.

I use my Sony Walkman phone for music and radio. Find the mornings and town shopping particularly stressful so calms me down to have some music on. The phone holds 8gb so can get a fair few songs on but I've found the headphones to be terrible. Two sets have broken now and the sound is poor when they do work so that's a pain.

I've never had an i-pod. Don't want one. The idea of pumping music straight into my ears doesn't appeal to me, it can't be good for them.

I download music (legally) through iTunes sometimes and then write the tracks onto CDs that I listen to on my CD player. Simples! etc.

Other than that, I just buy new or secondhand CDs I like and listen to them, or sometimes put the tracks I particularly like onto the iPlayer on my computer.

When I'm out and about, I generally follow the Viz top tip mentioned above - although I don't actually hum the songs, just think of them (I've got a good memory for doing that).

I disposed of all my CD's a couple of years ago...can't remember the last time I even used one!

I have an ipod touch for music and I do like a few of the games you can get from the app store. My phone has 16Gb storage - most of that is every Now album released + it's a divx player (and surprisingly good at it as well) so I chuck the odd movie on there (although currently I've got series 2 of the young ones!)

It's really scary just how much you can do with these devices - how many songs did a C-90 hold? How many songs can a basic 8gd ipod hold?

Kids these days...don't know they are born I tell ya!

I have an iPod right now, although I could live with any other mp3 player that produces the sound better (by that I mean, the signals it sends out to the earphones). There are Creative mp3 players on sale here... and in my opinion they do sound better. But for now I'm living with the iPod Nano my dad gave me.

Don't own an ipod or an mp3 although my phone has the latter incorporated in it.

The main reason I don't like them is because I don't like the ear plug wotsits in my delicate little shell-likes - urgh!!!  Undecided

Mostly have the radio on and/or I still have a largeish CD collection  Smiley
