There are some shocking choices here! lol  :P

I agree that David Bowie consistently operates at a very low temperature, but the 80s were not his heyday, alas...

Cleo's choice of David Sylvian is interesting and I can see the logic in that.

Phil Oakey and the League girls are cool in a folk-next-door, a bit naff way (if that makes sense).

I'm tempted to nominate Kate Bush, but I'll go instead for my doppelganger Pete Murphy of Bauhaus.  ;)

Kate Bush was one of my idols but I always think of her as more 70's than 80s re making a splash with a hitherto unexplored style.

that's what I thought too.

And the funny thing is - despite now being plump, mumsy, release-no-music-at-all Kate .........

.........  she's still cool!  ;D

Julie Burchill once reviewed a Prince concert by saying that he had the appearance of a midget who had fallen into a barrel of pubic hair.  :D

He's done a few good songs, but I personally can't stand Mr Nelson. He is so up himself it's a wonder he doesn't disappear.

He definitely is weird but that doesn't detract from the fact that he is an excellent artiste!
