Although I love New Romantics and synth ,My era was the start of Chicago House music and my favourite Derivitive of this movement was early london house, My favourite artist being Tim Simone (Bomb Da Bass) and Mark Moore (S-Express) .   They used to work with lots of different Dance and Soul acts.   Anyone remember "Megablast " and "Superfly guy"?

big Tim's work was one of the most underrated in the 80's...unfortunately it spawned lots of nuts imitations but without TS i guess lots of more critically acclaimed "dance" music wouldn't have been created (Massive Attack / Gorillaz / Prodigy)

then again, i may talkin' out my bum

i think you've spelt his name wrong though, i think it should be Simenon...but again, i could be wrong  ::)
