Ryder (Maynard Williams) Runner in the Night
« on: May 23, 2008, 12:38:19 PM »
It may surprise you, but I have only in the last month heard this phenomenal song - UK's entry for the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest.   It haunts me - the melody, Maynard Williams' mature voice and note-perfect, superb performance, the whole essence of the song.   I cannot believe that not only did the song come a disappointing 7th in the Eurovision contest (and a ghastly little ineffectual number from Belgium won), but it didn't rate in the UK charts afterwards.   My searches of the internet reveal Maynard Williams has appeared or is still appearing in various Lloyd Weber performances in the West End and has recorded a couple of tracks on some Lloyd Weber compilation albums.   But does anyone know if he has recorded a solo album, and if so, is it available anywhere?
