I find myself staring at the ground
Not hearing a single sound
I look up, to see a blank face
The epitome of the human race
Wishing, dreaming but still no hope
Grasping, Clutching at the rope
Reaching out to grab a hand
Holding onto timeless sand
Looking and wondering why
A puzzle and confused sigh
From afar a sound you hear
Stop and wipe away the tear
Into the darkness you squint and stare
Saying "Is anyone there"
You guard yourself, ready to defend
"It's Me" a whispered voice of a friend
The panic, the frown, turn it to a smile
The laughter roars as you chat a while
Things in life are not always bad
Just seem like it when your sad
