Oh hell yes!
Pseudo Echo were one of, if not the biggest electronic rock band in Australia during the 80s.
They were first discovered on our old music show Countdown in June 1983, at which stage they still did not have a deal with any record label. That changed as a result of their Countdown appearance, when EMI signed them up.
Their debut single, Listening, was released in November 1983 and instantly made the Australian Top 5. The debut album, Autumnal Park, got released in June 1984, and made the Top 20 here.
After that, they went a bit quiet during late 1984 and most of 1985 while they recorded the next album Love An Adventure. This was released in November 1985, and included the Top 10 singles Don't Go and Love An Adventure, as well as the Top 20 single Living In A Dream.
However, massive (albeit short) success in Australia would not come along until the end of 1986, when their reworking of Funky Town stormed all the way up to the top to get Pseudo Echo's first ever Australian #1, and stayed at the top for 7 consecutive weeks. After that, the spotlight gradually waned on these guys, and they never achieved that height of success here again.
To this day though, Pseudo Echo are *still* together and *still* making music. One can see them now and again performing on the local pub circuit, and from what I hear, they still draw in the crowds
