never saw the fascination - madonna obviously got "it" though as she seemed like a cheap copy to me in her early years, just with worse songs but more sex appeal.

i was however going through an anti-american music stage in those days

Everyone thought she was Madonnas little sister, despite being older than her, Lauper was born in 1953 and Madonna in 1958

I knew 3 of her hits in the 80s, but it was a 90s single (The World Is Stone) that lead me to check out her 80s albums.
I don't have every album she's ever made, but really like a lot of what I have so far.

I like her personality too.
