I've got their debut 12" in the picture sleeve! O0

Is that where the expression, '(s)he's got a face like a bag of spanners' came from?

Spangle, don't get your knickers in a twist.  :)

Cleo asked if someone in the band called 'A Bag Of Spanners' had cosmetic surgery that went horribly wrong.

I then asked if that's where the expression '(s)he has a face like a bag of spanners' came from.

Nowt to do with you, so don't take it personally.  ::)

FYI - A Bag Of Spanners was the offspring of what was left of Dumpys' Rusty Nuts after their acrimonious (sp) and very public split in 1979.  Similarly, two members of DRN went on to form the brilliant Ned's Atomic Dustbin.

Similarities maybe, copycats definitley not.

Wow SHreddie you have done your homework.  ;)

Ned's Atomic Dustbin had their moments but you cannot compare their first album "Sheds? What are the good for?" with ABOS's "Every Time I Go to Wales"   it was blatent rip off

DRN were doomed to failure. I saw them supporting The Scars once. Very poor performance and that bass player was very worrying.

Yes you can.  It was 'Every Time I Go To Welsh Wales'  ::)

I particularly liked the track 'Pulling Plonkers', which was rather badly covered by David Sylvian and re-named 'Pulling Punches'    ;D
