Dont leave me Dot, i'll stop fiddling the lecky!

I  think that was the infamous line from Brooky any way ;D

Simple enough though. If you could would you fiddle your fuel bills. Me, I havent so far but I do know that I am being right royally f*cked by British Gas as we ended up with one of those poxy pre-payment meters about 5 years ago when I had some major cash flow problems. At present its quite comfortably munching its way through £90 - £100 worth of gas a month. Now I have the ability to both buy (for around £40 on Ebay) and install another gas meter at our house. In other words, take the proper one out for two weeks out of four so to speak and reduce my gas bill by half. TBH, I am giving this some major consideration at present as I am so pissed with BG but I guess I am curious as to what other people's  thoughts are on this matter.

I feel your pain, I'm on leccy only here and it stings my bank balance every month  :(

I did choose 'sure....'  but I think I'd still be cautious about actually rigging my own meter.... (or bypassing it at least).

*I did help someone else do just that ages ago, I'll admit  >:D

I'm on leccy only too, but I do live alone so I guess the bills are far less than for a family - still resent the cost though.

I personally wouldn't have the guts to do it - I'm one of those poeple that does nowt wrong, but the one time I did I would be the one getting caught.  :(

The moral issue is covered here...
Part1
Part2
Part3

There was a guy where I used to live connected his house to his neighbour's electric meter He did time for that I think. It was either that or the flashing, I can't remember which. Or it might have been for getting his daughter pregnant.  :-\

Another guy I know runs his house off the street lights. He's not been caught yet. Not for that anyway.

Don't buy a hookey meter on eBay, that leaves a trail right to your door.

If \I could I would. When we got our house it was a new build and they all had prepayment electric meters.  Up until last May it was costing about £10-15 per week - it is now £20-£30 per week. We only have gas central heating but am waiting for the letter telling me the direct debit for gas is rising extortionately.  :tickedoff:
I would go out tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wear ...
