1st 80's Record You Ever Bought

The first record I ever bought was Adam & the Ants "Stand & Deliver" - I was the grand old age of 5!

Er, it would've been something in early 1980 - as I'd been buying albums for some years in the 70s!

Maybe Pete Townshend - Empty Glass, which I recall getting with Christmas money from Woolworths in Yeovil.

Same here. I used to buy a lot of singles and albums...maybe Brass in Pocket - Pretenders...Closer - Joy Division? Can't remember for sure.

...with my own money...that i earnt...was "All Stood Still" by Ultravox...but i think the first thing i ever went into a shop, with my mummy, and purchased by my own free will was "Gonna Make You A Star" by Big David Essex - he was the daddy!

i was 22 minimum...i was 25 when i purchased "I lost my heart (to a Starship Trooper)" by the once sexy Sarah Brightman, before she married that bloke with a face like a bulldog licking pish off a thistle

funny how bands tend to deteriorate with age isn't it...U2, Cure, New Order, Spandau, Duran, Blur, Oasis to name but a few...IMHO of course... ::)
