As per the title, when does 'middle age' start?
I was thinking about this the other day when it suddenly dawned on me that I'm now older than my mother-in-law was when I first met Madame TCM, and I thought she was ancient at the time!
The older I get however, the further the middle age 'starting post' seems to move.
When I was in my 20s I would have probably said that it started in your mid-to-late 30s. By the time I reached my mid-to-late 30s it had moved to mid 40s. Now I'm in my mid 40s I'm now thinking it probably starts about 50.
So I don't think as myself as being middle aged, and I certainly don't feel as though I am. I don't think I look middle aged either (I've still got own hair and teeth and stuff and I haven't yet had to resort to using Viagra
), but in reality I know I probably am.
So, just when
do you reach 'middle age'?
