hi all (my first post please be patient  :) )

Billy Idol is totally awesome! i got hold of a video of his performance at Rock Am Ring 2005.    his set and stage performance, persona, basically everything was top notch.

his guitarist is Steve Stevens, who was responsible for the riffwork on Michael Jackson's tune 'Dirty Diana' he is an astounding guitarist!

the set comprised of all of his 80s hits (less 'Don't Need A Gun' and 'Mony Mony') and 4 tracks from his album 'Devil's Playground'.

onstage he doesn't rely on any props, gimmicks, etc.    just his voice, sneer, and Steve Stevens' total 'Rockstar' style.

incidentally; that same year he was also on the line-up at Donington (Download as it's called now).

final mention.    at the Bryan Adams gig in Edinburgh the support act was 'Mostly Autumn' and the gal with the colour-coordinated underwear was Heather Findlay.    her claim to fame was that for a while she was due to marry Fish (of Marillion).    i wasn't at that gig, but they were referred to as 'Must Be Autumn' and that made me think their name must have been misheard  :)

e2a: Steve Stevens also performed the guitar work on the tune 'Top Gun Anthem' from 'Top Gun' (no less  ::) ) not to be confused with the song by Kenny Loggins.  anyway, he is in the video with Harold Faltermeyer performing in an aircraft hangar
