Title: Eighties Weirdos
Post by: Lord Villa on June 15, 2006, 11:03:03 AM
I started this thread up after chatting with my mate about weirdo's in the 1980s, and to be honest there were a few to choose from, mine were
Pete Burns
Grace Jones
Prince
Kate Bush (who I met in 1985)

I don't think Kate Bush is weird. Hyper normal if anything ...  ::)

Doctor of Dr & the Medics is professionally weird.

I don't know she's done some pretty weird stuff, her best song "Wuthering Heights" was a weird song about a weird book written by a Victorian weirdo, Emily Bronte.
Cloudbusting and The Dreaming were pretty weird as well.

There was nowt wrong with Kate Bush!    she didn't pretend to be anything other than what she was.

I have fond memories of her first appearing on Top of the Pops with my Dad.   Our first thoughts were OMG!!!!   but we both thought she was brill after that!

Who was that 80s comedian whose catchphrases were " Slither" and "Its weird" , he used to wear a convicts outfit and was always on things like " Live from Her Majestys (w/ Jimmy Tarbuck)" ????

He was proper weird!

Doesn't ring any bells with me, besides I'd never watch anything with the phrase "Her Majesty" in.
