I've run into an electronica song that is familiar to me, it has the same opening as another song that I believe was from the 80s. I can't remember any lyrics, or anything else about the song.

I checked out those bands, and I couldn't find anything with a similar sound.

I should probably specify that its the first 9 seconds of that link, and its the bit that repeats ~4 times every second. I swear I know it from somewhere and I get the distinct impression it was from my 80s music phase.

Okay at the 7 minute mark I definitely hear the resemblance. Unfortunately it isn't what's in my head. I will probably remember the name of the song in the middle of an important presentation that I'm giving or some other worst possible time imaginable.
