Kraftwerk entered the UK charts at #33 this week the song is called Aerodynamik (EMI)
-
THEY DID A CONCERT LAST WEEK AND THE SUN NEWSPAPER GAVE THEM A WICKED REVIEW!!
-
Plinky plonky sh*t!
(not a kraftwerk fan, can you guess?)
-
Terrific stuff!
I AM a Kraftwerk fan and quite a lot of modern music - dance music in particular - owes them a huge debt.
And forget the idea that they were some faceless robotic type sour krauts. Read I Was A Robot by the band's "drummer" Wolfgang Flur and you'll soon realise that they liked a laugh or three.
The lads encounter with Ian Dury and the Blockheads; the Average White Band and some Slovenian hotel toilet seats is surely proof of that alone.....

;D :badhairday:
Kraftwerk gave us soe of the most iconic music ofthe 70s and early 80s. Im trying to find a CD single of "Tour de France" as I onlywant the single version and don't want to shell out 20 to get all the re-mixed version...can anyone help?
-
YOU CAN GET THE ORIGINAL VERSION ON IMESH
WWW.IMESH.COM (http://WWW.IMESH.COM)

Where would dance music music be now if Kraftwerk were not around ?
They were innovative using very early synthesisers, and using pre-recorded looped tapes of bleeps and plings.
I am also a BIG fan. ;D
They still have a cult following today, the charts show that as Rubiks states.
-
Geniuses - Kraftwerk are sometimes described as the Godfathers of Techno. One of my all-time favourites.
Saw them live in Brixton Academy last month...they were fantastic :)
-
Ill get me coat then.
-
Kraftwerk - Fantastic!! The Model, absolute classic
-
I quite liked pocket calculator - they probably used a Casio to make the noises ;D
BTW Cleo - that's a reference to another thread ;)
you seem to be a bit slow on the uptake tonight - you sure you're not older than me?
LOL
-
They are rumoured to be playing Glastonbury this year.
Guess I'll have to tell you lot about it later.... <<<<insert smug emoticon here>>>>>
;D
-
Slow? Me? It only took me 10 1/2 hours to get to that post of yours, what are you talking about Shytot? ::)
I'm sure. :P
Vis Dis, we shall expect a blow by blow account. :)

Choice of 2:
:smug:
:smug2:
<<<<insert satisfied emoticon here>>>>> lol
Will anybody know them @ Glastonbury (other than you ViscDisc) ?
-
I think they'd be a big draw. However it's far from certain. The line-up isn't announced until just before the event.
For those who wish to gnash their teeth at the brilliant bands who have confirmed they are playing - this site has a list - http://www.gorge.org/glastonbury/
-
Now if Justin et al were on that list I really WOULD be jealous Vis Dis! ;D
-
They had a bit of a barney with Emily Eavis and got a bit stroppy IMHO.
Anyway, saw them there last year! ;D
:smug2:

>:(
*Sulks.

The way I heard it, the Eavises refused to ask them to play because they thought The Darkness would be has-beens by the time that Glasto came around, then suddenly thought "oh 'eck" when they got mega and begged them to play (including offering loads of cash).
Good on The Darkness for turning them down, I say.
-
According to the Eavis's it's a Darkness originated story that one.
Glastonbury very rarely has bands playing two years running.
-
kraftworks song the autobaun is great. they have released new material. Patricia

:oThere is a new group called Benni Benassi, they sound alot like Kraftwork, their music sampling sounds alot like Kraft, alot of digital voice sampling and electronic synths. I bought this BB cd and thought wow! Sounds like Kraftwork. Check it out people. 8)
