The Women's 800m race last night...wow!

Never seen such a brilliant race before. Apart from Ant & Dec commentating it couldn't have been more perfectly executed.

Couldn't agree more !!

Kelly who ?? Hmm not heard much about her build up ....

Most depressing point ... first Gold for GB female athlete since Sally Gunnell in 1992 !!

At least the Sun is VFM !! ;D

Kelly who?????????

Kelly Holmes is Britain's No. 1 women's 800m runner. Outdoors, she has won 6 AAA's senior titles, a World Bronze in 1995 and an Olympic Bronze medal in Sydney 2000, as well as 1500m medals: a World Silver in 1995, a European Silver in 1994 and Commonwealth Gold (1994) and a Silver in 1998. She's running in the 1500m today I believe.

Thaks for the Athletics tutorial on Kelly ;D

I did know a bit about her ;) but not that much ;D

I guess you could modify the last sentence to say that GB & NI is not really into athletics much .... based on our medal losing performances ;D

*wonders what £ / medal figure is ???

Athletics can be exciting and it fills in 2 or 3 hours on a TV schedule I suppose  :-\

n n n n n no problem Shytot. I like athletics. I used to do a bit a while back. I was more of a sprinter than an endurance runner but seem to have swapped over in latter years  ;D

Good on Kelly,she seems to have been around a long time-not sure if she still is,but she was a PT instructor in the Army,so you know she was well disciplined for training

I was a Junior 3As class sprinter and hurdler.

Eventually cigarettes, booze and women  ;) took their tragic toll....
