Thats a busy looking amiga screen  ;D

I remember upgrading some ram and costing me £160.00

I remember playing with some music software to create a dance song, sonix or something like that.

Aegis Sonix - not bad software.

Me, I had an 8 bit sampler (Technosound turbo which incidently does stuff my PC still can't do!) and used the tracker Octamed to sequence my samples. V3 was great but Octamed Soundstudio V1 blew me away! There's a version of soundstudio for the PC but it's rubbish and not a patch on the Amiga version.

Have you still got your dance tunes Rubiks? Were you/are you still into the 'demo' scene?

Re: Workbench screen.

It's workbench version 3.5 with the boing bag update and more WB hacks than you can imagine. I don't usually run all that stuff at once but hey, it goes to show that the Amiga is a very versatile and still capable machine.

I used to collect lots of the demo stuff. Not into the scene, just liked seeing what could be done.

I could never get on with the tracker programs, cut and paste me  ;D I think I may have had that sampler, I've just found an old trilogic midi interface.  :)

The dance track were very poor. Best to stay hidden away in the loft  ;D

I'll dig a couple of mine out for you (haven't heard them for a while myself so its as good an excuse as any) - they play through winamp if you have the mod player plugin.

Never really had a use for midi - I can't play anything and it's only recently I've had a keyboard (bought on a whim). It's connected to my other computer but it's main use at the moment is for when my young nieces come around as they like to play with it and it keeps them quiet for a bit!!!

Have you tried using any PC programs to make some dance tunes? Reason is great for that kind of thing - it's expensive though (unless...  ;D )

I loved my speccy.  I've still got the 128k one (with the built-in tape player) but I started off on the rubber keyed variety.  I remember having to wedge a pencil inbetween the jacks of the lead which connected to the tape player!!!  My favourite game was Jetpac (which I dig out now and again to make sure I can still zap some alien butt).  I could make all four rockets too...sometimes more than once.  I loved Cookie too and could even make the cake.  Mind you I'm not too sure about the ingredients.  I don't think a cake made of custard, sugar, cheese, chocolate and mixed peel would taste very nice.  Plus the bolts, fish bones, tacks and god knows what else that used to end up in the mixing bowl.  It had a monster that reminded me of the thing that lived in a bin in Sesame Street (wasn't a big fan so don't know what it was called).  Also loved Frogger and Pacman.  I'm now working my way through Pacman World on the PS.

Firts time on here but already bringing loads of memories back from my old speccy days. Lunar jetman and jetpack were my first games, really hard games even by todays standards!. I Think my faves were the "ultimate" games; "nitelore" & "alien8".
Ive still got my spare speccy in the loft and still in a box !!! Probably worth at least £2.75 by now !!

Those were the days ... ;D

Daley Thompson's decathlon game was a tough game - how many people knackered their keyboards doing the hurdles and the long jump ? ;D

yeah, I remember decathlon, broke countless kempston joystics with the dreaded "waggle" especially the 1500 meters - ready to check into accident and emergency after that with RSI !

I still have a fully working speccy with all the games I used to play. I have always associated different 80s albums with games played.
E.G. I remember playing the classic Gargoyle Games "Heavy on the Magick" with AHA in the background. The connection here is the track "Cry Wolf" is on this album. The word "Wolf" was a password in the game. When playing "The Hobbit" I keep thinking of Nik Kershaws album "The Riddle" - not only for the title, but there was a ricketty old tree on the album cover which reminded me of "The Bewitched Gloomy Place" in the game. I still go back from time to time - either to get completely hammered in Eugenes Lair in Manic Miner, or to poke fun at the big chick in Chuckie Egg or even have a laugh in the Hobbit.
The Hobbit was hilarious as you could command Gandalf to go to the trolls lair and kill the vicious troll. A full scale battle would ensue, resulting in a few deaths. If anyone survived this chaotic fracas you'd find them wandering about afterwards. Once or twice though, if I approached Gandalf after the battle with the trolls, he would turn on me and kill me as though he were in an awful mood and blamed me for the earlier skirmish!

Jet Pac, Atic Atac, Manic Miner, Daley Thompson'S Decathalon (boy did it take me a while to save up for that one!), Football Manager, Hobbit, Valhalla, General Election, Hunchback etc

The loading process was the best - hoping that the tape wasn't in any way damaged and having to rely your parents' old tape player - and those blue/red or yellow/green lines that indicated the game was loading - together with that terrible screeching  - sheer bliss!!

Just seen a PC game out now that has all the old favourites on it together with a Spectrum emulator - all for 5.99 - I'm gonna have to buy it
