What a load of bull, he'll be wearing Argentina shirts again during the World Cup next year. For me as an Englishman he is as foreign as a Frenchman or an American, so I won't be cheering if he wins, it's the jocks bigging it up if he does win that I'm not looking forward to. Middle class game anyhow, another two months until the footie season, can't wait that long :'( :'( :'(

How can you cheer a jock on, when jocks always want England to fail in whatever sport it is.

Snaps,  Jersey has a separate Government, so you're not techniquely British  ::)

does it?!  :o  ::)

Jersey is still part of the British Isles as much as Scotland is so that's good enough for me  O0

Actually LV, you are incorrect. According to the legal definition Jersey, as one of the Channel Islands, is part of the British Isles.

It's far more difficult to define what being British means, than what being British is.

The Republic of Ireland is also part of the British Isles does that make it's citizens British as well?

Ireland is part of the geographically defined area of the British Isles. However, I said 'legal definition', as in UK law. And more to the point, both SC and Murray would still be British, either way!  ::)

Can we not just support whoever and give our views on this year's Wimbledon without getting into a political battle over what/who is British and what/who isn't please?

So far I don't feel Murray is quite on top of his game so far but he is picking up better on this set. Go Murray! O0
